School tornado experiment [2007-07-17]

A vortex is caused by circular movement.  It has to be fast enough so that it can reach the bottom of the bottle or blender.  As it slows the bottom bit rises to the top and eventually disappears.  The vortex is roughly cone shape.  It can bend this way and that all the time.
